MERLIN partner PSTP organized their 3rd meet-up in collaboration with ‘innoSHARE UNIversity 2019 – where science becomes business’. This event took place in Warsaw, at the Conference space of Copernicus Science Centre. As a parallel activity in this context, PSTP delivered the “VC Speed Dating Warsaw” meet-up, where entrepreneurs meet investors in ‘speed dates’. The event gives the opportunity to present a project face-to-face to many investors in a short period of time. Each of the qualified start-ups had 7 minutes on one with each investor. During this time participants needed to convince investors that their project is so marketable that it is worth investing in it.

But this activity was not only organising one-to-one meetings, but also about preparing additional networking and investment seeking opportunities during “Open Networking Zone”. However, both events were available only by invitation and proceed with enrolment. During these activities, participants got:

• Knowledge – participants had an opportunity to meet professionals who can help with their business. There were several stands with legal and marketing & ICO’s consultations.
• Investments – organizers cooperated with investors from CEE and it is one of the most successful event in Poland.
• Networking – the events are also efficient networking. In open part, participants can meet participants of speed dates, industry experts, founders, investors and other interesting people.

PSTP and its partner – Lawmore (company specialised with start ups’-investors’ relationships), the first and the biggest on Polish market when it comes to matchmaking start-ups with investors – put a lot of emphasis on a selection of submitted projects in order to ensure the effectiveness of such meetings. It was the careful selection of participants and the professional approach of the organizers that guarantee the success of speed dating.
